Umlaute and some other characters cannot be used

Hello,
Some characters like German Umlauts cannot be send. The error can be reproduced when submitting something with an Umlaut in it. Here is an example:

Perhaps you know an easy fix for this issue? It looks as if the String must be formatted as UTF-8 before passing it on?
